Scott is an employment attorney with over 30 years of experience helping businesses navigate California’s complex employee-friendly laws. Scott advises employers of all sizes on a wide range of employment matters, including hiring, separation, leaves of absence, discrimination, and wage and hour laws. He also provides his clients with the tools to proactively avoid legal issues, such as employee handbooks, policies, and employment and severance agreements. Scott approaches client issues with a practical, cost effective perspective aiming to prevent legal problems before they happen. When necessary he represents companies in court, and/or mediation and arbitration, and before state and federal agencies including the DLSE, DFEH and EEOC.
Over the past three decades Scott has practiced at both big firms and boutique size firms, as well as his own firm. He represents clients in a wide array of industries including retail, real estate, technology, health, manufacturing and transportation. Scott has published a number of articles on employment law issues and regularly speaks on important employment law topics impacting California employers.
Scott and his wife Janice have two sons in college, and reside in Hermosa Beach. Scott enjoys hiking and travelling, and is an avid sports fan.
